At re.Planted we strive to use only the blooms we grow right here on our farm in all our floral designs. For some brides, that’s a deal breaker. But for Jade, it sealed the deal!

Jade’s wedding inspiration photos exuded warmth, were texturally dynamic, and featured a simplistic colour palette. I was excited to translate her vision into floral pieces that suited her style and the season.

Jade opted for an intimate wedding that took place waterside at the Deep River Yacht & Tennis Club on a beautiful August afternoon.

Overlooking the beach is a wooded trail; the perfect location to capture the bridal party.

To achieve the colour palette and style Jade envisioned I relied heavily on our dahlias which were in full stride by late August.

The stars in Jade’s bridal bouquet were white and bronze dahlias and white, champagne, and light brown lisianthus. We finished the piece with salmon and white zinnias, ammi, phlox, strawflower, and seeded atriplex, for texture and height.

Wherever possible, I opted out of pure white fillers and instead chose to bridge the warm orange tones and cool white focals, with warm creams, browns, and blushes. Varied shades of Phlox, Lisianthus, and China Aster allowed me to accomplish that goal.

Crafting Jade’s wedding florals was a great way to end our 2022 wedding season. The bride showed an appreciation for local flowers that we found refreshing and motivating.
