The baby plants from our mature elderberry bushes, these seedlings are very well adapted to our unique Renfrew County climate.
Elderberries are well known for their edible flowers and medicinal berries. Great native pollinator. Plants can grow to over 12ft tall and spread slowly via woody undergrown runner roots. We cut them back hard each year to keep them manageable.
Elderberries need to be planted in pairs, or at least 10-12ft from existing bushes to ensure proper cross-pollination for berry production.
Hardiness: Down to Zone 2
